Gatwick draft master plan consultation
Gatwick draft master plan consultation
Between October 2011 and January 2012, we ran a major consultation on Gatwicks plans up to 2020. We'd like to thank everyone who took part either online or in person at our public exhibitions or stakeholder workshops. Our consultation comprised of:
- 3,568 local residents and 689 businesses posted leaflets
- 398 letters sent to representatives of 30 local councils
- 43 MPs written to
- 19 workshops facilitated workshops
- Ten days of public exhibitions at six locations
- Two exhibitions for airport staff; and
- One dedicated consultation website.
Your views really are helping us to form our vision for Gatwick's future, and what we need to consider in doing that. We have now started a detailed analysis and review of everything we said in the plan, and what you have said about it. You can still read our draft master plan if you would like to, however, we will now not be able take any further comments into account in our review.
In the meantime, we've published a report that tells you the types of people and organisations responded, how they responded and engaged with us, and what the general themes raised by them was. In summary:
- Nearly 1,700 members of public came to our exhibitions
- 132 stakeholders and members of public participated in 19 different detailed workshops
- A further 350 people gave us written or telephone feedback about our plans.
The report provides an indication of the kinds of issues we will be considering as part of finalising a masterplan. It was produced by Green Issues Communique, who we worked with to design and deliver the consultation process and ensure that we incorporated best practice in how we engaged with all of our local communities.
In the summer, when we publish our final master plan, we will provide a clear indication of how we intend to take account of the key issues that were raised by respondents, where possible.
