Air Southwest launches new business service

21 February 2008

Business customers travelling with Air Southwest from London Gatwick will be able to take advantage of a brand new package of benefits from today.

The new ‘Business Plus’ service will provide passengers with fully flexible business fares which can be booked on-line at www.airsouthwest.com , including a range of added-value extras.

Air Southwest flies four times a day, seven days a week from London Gatwick to Plymouth and Newquay.

Air Southwest will give ‘Business Plus’ customers the opportunity to change flights, any time they like up to two hours before departure, at no extra charge. This facility is aimed at those who might run late or if travel plans have to change at the last minute.

Other key benefits of ‘Business Plus’ include customers being able to relax in style in executive lounges at most airports served by Air Southwest. They can also use a dedicated Fast Track security channel* once they have checked-in for their flight.

‘Business Plus’ users can check-in up to 30kg of baggage at no charge, in addition to a generous allowance on free hand baggage. Once on board the aircraft, they will be offered a complimentary drink whilst en-route to their destination.

Jim Cameron, Chief Executive at Air Southwest said: “With the introduction of ‘Business Plus’ we will be able to offer our business customers the flexibility that we know they want and will appreciate. Air Southwest is all about ‘ease’ and we want to make the travel experience for all our passengers hassle-free and pleasurable. We know from research that our destinations are increasingly popular with business travellers year-round and these additional services will greatly benefit those looking for more freedom of choice”.

The airline is already well known for its warm and friendly customer service. It also prides itself on its ‘no hidden charges’ approach to prices. Air Southwest was one of the first airlines to include all taxes and charges in its fares, with a ‘what you see is what you pay’ policy.

Peter Ledson is a chartered quantity surveyor and travels regularly from London Gatwick to Newquay for business. He said: “I welcome today’s announcement of Business Plus by Air Southwest. I often have to change my travel plans at the last minute because of my schedule – this flexibility of ticket and access to executive lounges is a great addition to the existing services”.
