Gatwick – Britain’s favourite airport

05 December 2007

BAA Gatwick is celebrating winning its third award this year, having been voted Favourite British Airport by readers of the Daily and Sunday Telegraph newspapers . The award, presented at the ABTA Convention in Tenerife, came after 30,000 people voted BAA Gatwick as their favourite airport, ahead of Manchester and Birmingham.

“Yet again, I am delighted that Gatwick has won an award voted for by its passengers,” Andy Flower, Managing Director BAA Gatwick said. “It is always an enormous pleasure to receive any accolade, but when it’s been chosen by the people who use our terminals, it is all the more rewarding. Again I thank the entire BAA team, and all those who work for our business partners and make up the airport community, for the dedication they show in providing great customer service on behalf of our passengers.

The award was collected for the airport by Simon Edwards, Airline Account Manager BAA Gatwick. In addition this year BAA has also been voted Best UK Airport at the Travel Bulletin Awards and Favourite UK Leisure Airport at the British Travel Awards.
