Gatwick Airport wins top British Travel Award

Gatwick Airport has been voted best UK airport for leisure travel by passengers and the travel industry. The award was presented to Gatwick Airport by leading comedian Frankie Boyle, on a great night for some of Gatwick’s airlines.

The airport’s biggest airline, easyJet, picked up Best Low Cost/No Frills Airline; Monarch was named Best Leisure Airline and British Airways was named Best Scheduled Airline (Europe). Mike Luddy, Gatwick Airport’s commercial director said: “This award underlines the sharp focus of the Gatwick team on delivering great service for our customers, every day, and we are delighted to have our efforts recognised by passengers and respected industry professionals.”

The awards are voted for by tens of thousands of consumers, travel agents and travel industry professionals.
