London Gatwick Airport sees flight punctuality improve

15 June 2009

London Gatwick Airport has welcomed the publication today of the CAA punctuality statistics for the period January to March 2009 showing an overall improvement in charter flight punctuality from the airport.

Gatwick has the largest charter operation of all those airports that are monitored for the statistics and saw the average delay for charter flights reduce from 30 minutes to 25 minutes, compared to the same period last year.

“We are very pleased that the charter punctuality, as measured by the CAA, has improved this year,” David Stretch, Customer Service Director at London Gatwick Airport, said. “With our charter airline business partners, we recognise just how important it is for our passengers to have a punctual departure at the start of their holiday. We have worked very closely with them on a number of
initiatives around check-in and those areas over which we have direct control, such as security and airport systems, to improve performance overall. Passengers can help us in this area as well by coming prepared for security.”
