London Gatwick Airport hosts final public event on noise consultation
14 September 2009
London Gatwick Airport will be hosting its final public session on the content of the draft noise action plan on Thursday 17 September 2009. The formal 16 week public consultation started on 18 June 2009 and will close on 7 October 2009.
Everyone that is interested in the content of the plan is invited to attend the event to learn more about the draft plan. Members of Gatwick’s senior team will be on hand to answer questions.
The session will be held between 19.00 and 20.00 at the Gatwick Conference and Business Centre, 7th Floor, Norfolk House, South Terminal, Gatwick Airport, RH6 0NP.
“We know that noise from Gatwick Airport is a significant concern for people living and working under the flight path” said Tom Denton, Head of Corporate Responsibility and Environmental Strategy. “This consultation is an opportunity to influence future plans and we urge all those who are concerned or interested in noise from Gatwick Airport to respond to the consultation by 7 October.”
The final plan, which will take account of feedback received, will provide a framework for noise management and it will be submitted to the Secretary of State for Transport later this year, for recommendation to DEFRA as part of the adoption process.
