First aid for Gatwick
11 May 2006
Two new First Aid Rooms have been opened at BAA Gatwick Airport, one in North Terminal and one in South Terminal.
The rooms were designed by Nigel Randtoul, a Manager Terminal Operations at the airport, responding to a need for first aid facilities in the passenger areas. Nigel has himself been awarded twice for saving passengers' lives and is enthusiastic about improving the professionalism of first aid facilities at Gatwick.
"There are many experienced first aiders at Gatwick," Nigel said. "These rooms give them another way of delivering excellent customer service experiences, even in first aid. We also anticipate that the new room will reduce non-emergency calls made to "Solo", the Gatwick Airport Emergency Paramedic, who is here for emergencies".
Use of the rooms is arranged through the Terminal Management Teams and can be used by all first aiders or by individuals wanting to self-administer their own medicine.
The first aid rooms were officially opened in a "bandage-cutting" ceremony by Sean Horkan, Operational Solutions Director.
