Gatwick looks forward to further growth in 2008

Gatwick’s traffic figures continued to grow in the New Year with over two million passengers travelling through the airport in January.
A leap of 22.4% in the number of passengers travelling to Ireland and the continued steady growth of European scheduled traffic (5.6%) ensured overall growth of 1% compared to January 2007. However, the domestic market declined by 6.7% and small decreases were also seen in the European charter, North Atlantic and other long haul markets.
BAA’s UK airports handled a total of 10.1 million passengers in January, a decrease of 2% on the same month last year.
