Press Release

Gatwick Airport - advice to passengers

Monday 20 December 11.00

The runway at Gatwick is open again today and is running close to normal operations.

However, passengers are advised that there will be some delays and cancellations today due to the impact of weather disruption elsewhere in the UK and also with snow spreading across Northern Europe  - Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands are among those countries affected.

Passengers planning to travel through Gatwick today should check with their airline first and only make their way to the airport if their flight has been confirmed.

Flight information is also available on our website at www.gatwickairport.com and we’ll provide regular updates on http://www.twitter.com/Gatwick_Airport

The road and rail networks remain impacted by the weather conditions so passengers should also check with transport operators before planning their journey to the airport.

Weather forecasts show the possibility of some light to moderate snow fall in the Gatwick area later today.  Gatwick is keeping a watchful eye on the weather conditions so that the 150-strong snow team can respond with immediate effect.
