Gatwick Airport: UK Border Agency Strike

30 November 2011 - 10.00

Gatwick has received 57 inbound flights into the North and South terminals since 0520 carrying around 8,000 passengers. Passengers have been passing through the border zones as normal with no delay.

All outbound flights are operating as normal.

Scott Stanley, Gatwick Airport Chief Operating Officer said: “We have just got through our first busy peak with no disruption to the inbound flights and no knock-on effect to the outbound flights. Arriving passengers have been processed safely through passport control as normal with no delays.

“We will of course continue to keep a close eye on the situation and respond quickly and robustly should there be a build up of queues in the border zones today.”

The next update will be at around 1200.
