Press Release

Gatwick Airport update on weather disruption (08:20)

18 December 2010

Gatwick's runway remains open, however we are expecting significant snowfall for much of today.

Gatwick Airport strongly advises passengers flying out this weekend to contact their airline to check their flight status before making their way to the airport.  With public transport and roads likely to be affected, passengers should check with transport operators before planning their journey to the airport.

Flight information is also available on our website at www.gatwickairport.com and passengers can get updates on Twitter @Gatwick_Airport.

With severe weather expected across London today, BA has announced that they have cancelled all European and Domestic flights due to depart from Gatwick today between 1000 and 1700.

Passengers are advised to check on ba.com for the very latest information about their specific flight. BA has said that If their flight has been cancelled they can either chose to rebook on an alternative flight or they can claim a full refund.

easyJet yesterday confirmed the cancellation of all flights out of Gatwick between 06:00-10:00, Saturday 18 December. They are also advising of possible further cancellations and delays to other flights throughout today. Passengers are advised to check the airlines website www.easyJet.com for the latest information.
