Gatwick Airport update on weather disruption
17 December 2010 - 18.00 hrs
Weather forecasters are predicting heavy snow across most parts of the UK this weekend with the possibility of up to 20cm of snow. Severe weather warnings remain in place for the Gatwick area. Delays, disruptions and cancellations at the airport are likely this weekend.
Gatwick Airport strongly advises passengers flying out this weekend to contact their airline to check their flight status before making their way to the airport. Passengers should also allow extra travel time to the airport as public transport and roads are likely to be affected - passengers should check with transport operators before planning their journey.
Flight information is also available on our website at www.gatwickairport.com and passengers can get updates on Twitter @Gatwick_Airport.
easyJet has already confirmed the cancellation of all flights out of Gatwick between 06:00-10:00, Saturday 18 December. Passengers are advised to check the airlines website www.easyJet.com for the latest information.
Gatwick is currently operating as normal with minimal disruption to operations. Weather conditions are being monitored on a regular basis so that Gatwick’s snow team can respond to snow and ice with immediate effect.
