Key points:

  • Average passenger load factors reached a record high this month. On average, 87% of seats were filled. International markets recorded their own record high with average loads reaching 89.4%
  • Traffic to long haul markets (excluding North Atlantic) grew 11.3%, a continuing year-on-year growth trend
  • Overall year-on-year traffic declined 1.3% in August 2010. Domestic and International traffic declined 1.4% and 1.3%, respectively
  • Air transport movements declined 3.7% on prior year. This was driven by the full year impact of capacity consolidations to International markets, to which movements declined 5.0%. Air transport movements to domestic markets rose 2.6%
  • Air cargo tonnage continues to out perform prior year both on a monthly and 12 month basis.
