Gatwick partners with Heart FM Sussex to find local community heroes

Do you know a local hero?

Gatwick Airport is supporting Heart FM (Sussex) to seek out Surrey and West Sussex’s unsung local heroes.

Stewart Wingate, Gatwick Airport Chief Executive said: “Heart’s local heroes campaign is a great way to single out and reward ordinary people who do extraordinary things in their local community. Gatwick is honoured to be sponsoring a campaign that is all about recognising the efforts of genuinely caring and courageous individuals.

“If you believe there is someone in your community who truly goes above and beyond the call of duty then please nominate them for Heart’s Local Heroes.”

People have until 23 March to nominate someone for a Heart’s Local Hero award. There are eight categories to select from and a panel from Heart, Gatwick Airport and Legal & General (the other Local Hero sponsor) will select the top three nominees in each category who'll be invited along to the Heart’s Local Heroes Awards Ceremony on Friday 8 April at the elegant 4* Felbridge Hotel and Spa, East Grinstead.

The evening, hosted by Heart Breakfast's Tom, Lynsey & Jack, includes drinks reception, entertainment, three course meal and of course  the winner in each of the eight categories and the overall winner of the ultimate accolade 'Heart’s Local Hero 2011'  will be announced.
