Advice for passengers travelling through London Gatwick Airport over the Easter holiday season
04 April 2007
We are looking forward to a busy Easter season, with around 600,000 passengers expected to travel through Gatwick Airport from Thursday 5 April through to Tuesday 10 April. In order to make your journey through the airport as smooth as possible, we would like to remind passengers of the following heightened security restrictions:
Passengers can carry small quantities of liquid items no larger than 100 ml, i.e. gels, lotions, pastes, liquid cosmetics, foams, and foodstuffs, in their hand baggage in a separate plastic sealed bag, which must be presented when going through airport security checkpoints. This bag should be no larger than 20 cm by 20 cm / 8" by 8".
However, in order to ease journey time, we do advise that most liquid items are placed in hold baggage and only items that are required onboard the aircraft are carried in hand baggage.
The restriction of one item of hand baggage per passenger remains in place. This must be no longer than 56 centimetres tall ( approximately 22 inches), 45 centimetres wide ( approximately 17.7 inches) and 25 centimetres deep ( approximately 10 inches).
We hope this information will help you to plan for your journey through Gatwick Airport this Easter.
