Press Release

South entrance building refurbishment work

23 October 2007

As part of BAA Gatwick’s £850 million pound investment in putting the passenger first, an extensive refurbishment of the South Entrance Building in South Terminal, will start next Monday, 29 October. The work will include a replacement of both the floor and ceilings.

To enable these works, the South Entrance Building, the first entrance to South Terminal reached on the terminal forecourt (following the direction of traffic), will be closed for a period of six weeks during which time access to and egress from the terminal will be via the North Entrance Building (the second entrance).
Additional signage will direct passengers along the alternative route.

The lost property office, on the ground floor of the South Entrance Building, will remain open during this period but will only be accessible from the ground floor entrance.

Entrances and exits at North Terminal are not affected.
