Note: Origins and destinations are classified according to ultimate origin or destination of aircraft in the case of multi-sector flights.
Note: Figures for the market sectors have been rounded. Totals as per traffic summary.

Key points:

  • Year-on-year traffic declined 0.8% in June 2010, a result of capacity reductions across Irish and North Atlantic markets.
  • Traffic to long-haul markets (excluding North Atlantic) grew 6.2%, driven by growth in some African and Middle Eastern markets. Capacity reductions to Mexican markets have been offset by heightened demand.
  • Gatwick’s biggest markets, European scheduled and European charter, remained static against prior year as Gatwick enters its peak summer period.
  • Air transport movements declined 2.1% this month, as the full year impact of capacity consolidations continues.
  • Air cargo tonnage continues to out perform prior year both on a monthly and twelve month basis.
