Health and safety
Our plans for 2008 include:
- Developing our health, safety and environmental (HSE) management system, ‘Managing Responsibly’, with a rigorous system of compliance auditing to assure its implementation. This will further improve controls within our own activities, and those of our partners working at the airport.
- Requiring all our senior managers to participate in safety evaluation exercises in the airport. Supported by training, communications and awareness this will enable senior managers to provide visible leadership and commitment to health and safety not only to our own staff but to the wider airport community.
- Implementing our capital investment plan in areas of health and safety risk, for example fire protection system projects.
- Working with business partners, the trade unions and the enforcement authorities to create further awareness of the benefits of improved safety performance.
- Preparing new fire safety plans for our buildings to ensure that all provisions (fire safety management, systems and facilities) are up to date and fit for purpose.
