Our plans for 2008 include:

• Consulting with local stakeholders on our noise action plan. We will then publish any feedback we receive and launch our action plan later in the year
• Continuing to support the Precision Area Navigation (PRNAV) departure trial to improve departure track keeping. This will involve a small number of airlines with specific types of aircraft and on-board navigation equipment to fly particular departure routes with greater consistency
• Reviewing our formal instruction (MDI) to airfield users for the running of auxiliary power units.
• Continuing to report performance against the requirements of the AIP in our quarterly reports to NaTMAG, the Gatwick Airport Consultative Committee and on our website
• Undertaking a ground noise modelling and monitoring exercise in August 2008.

2008 performance targets

• In line with Defra guidelines consult, publish and begin implementation of a noise action plan by December 2008
• Drive achievement of continuous descent approach across the 24 hour period from 81.0% in 2007 to 82.0% for 2008.
