Gatwick and the community

Many people have an interest in what happens at Gatwick Airport, both in day-to-day operations and new developments and business decisions that impact local people and the economy.
Gatwick has well established links with our stakeholders so that we understand their views and they know our plans and ideas.
Our aim to build interest, communication and mutual understanding, both informally and formally, via our consultative committee (GATCOM), which is an important way of engaging with representatives of all our stakeholder groups on a regular basis.
For many years we have worked in partnership with local communities on a range of programmes, from education and skills initiatives to environmental projects. We also encourage our employees to volunteer their time in the local community.
Gatwick has a number of community commitments and legal obligations that have been developed and agreed with our local authorities – West Sussex County Council and Crawley Borough Council and form part of a Section 106 Legal Agreement.
