Many airlines allow you to check in online via their website, from two to 24 hours before departure.
You may be able to choose your seat or print your boarding card from your home, office or hotel. Then when you get to the airport, simply take your baggage to the bag drop facility.
The following airlines offer online check-in from Gatwick. Please contact the airline to confirm whether you can use the service, and to check the final times for dropping bags, collecting boarding cards and arriving at the gate.

Virgin online check-in offer – South Terminal
