Community support

We have a long-standing community support programme through which we not only support a wide range of local community activities, but also engage in meaningful dialogue with all our key stakeholders.

We invest in the communities around Gatwick by supporting local projects which focus on the environment, education and volunteering. During 2007, for example, we gave around £310,000 to local projects which ranged from a mobile construction classroom, to VSO's Global Xchange programme and supporting the Gatwick environment centre.

Many people have an interest in what happens at the airport, both in day-to-day operations, as well as in new developments. We have well-established links with local residents, businesses and other organisations around Gatwick to share our ideas and plans and understand their concerns. Our consultative committee GATCOM, is a key way of engageing more formally with a representative groups of our stakeholders on a regular basis.
