Travel to Central London

Depending on your budget, mood or the time you have available, there are various ways to travel from Gatwick Airport to the centre of London.

By train
For high-speed travel, passengers can take the Gatwick Express to London Victoria. For details of special offers and to pre-book tickets visit www.gatwickexpress.com or ring 0845 6001515 (UK only).
 
Southern trains run every 15 minutes during the day to and from London Victoria, and every hour at night. Regular northbound services to East Croydon, Clapham Junction and Watford Junction provide connections to other London destinations. A single ticket from Gatwick to Victoria is £8, with an average journey time of 35 minutes. Call 0845 127 2920 for further information.

First Capital Connect offer a regular train service every 15 minutes to central London's King's Cross St Pancras station. For further information call Capital Connect on 0845 026 4700.

The railway station is directly linked to Gatwick's South Terminal and is just a few minutes from North Terminal via a transit train link. Train information and ticket desks are located in the station and within the arrival areas of both terminals.

By coach
National Express run a coach service to the centre of London with up to three departures an hour. Tickets can be bought at National Express ticket desks in Arrivals at both South and North terminals. There is also a ticket desk and covered waiting area in the South Terminal coach station. Tickets can be booked in advance on www.nationalexpress.com or by calling +44 (0)8705 80 80 80.

Taxi
Car hire services are provided by the airport's official partner, Checker Cars. Cars can be booked at either the Checker Cars offices in the North Terminal arrivals area and in the northern entrance building leading to the South Terminal, or by calling  0800 747 737 (Freephone). The journey to central London takes approximately 65 minutes and costs around £77 (plus £5 congestion charge if your destination is within the charging zone).

By car
London Gatwick is 28 miles (45km) south of London, directly linked to the M23 motorway at Junction 9 and to the A23 London-Brighton road. For passengers driving into central London from Gatwick and using satellite navigation the airport postcode is RH6 0LL.
