Gatwick has a proud history of charitable support. As well as supporting many charities and local groups, we have three key charities which we work to raise funds for over the longer term - one local, one national and one airport based charity. These charities are currently St Catherine's Hospice, Gatwick TravelCare and Cancer Research UK.
We will be raising money for these organisations throughout the year and encouraging our staff to volunteer their time and expertise.
St Catherine's Hospice
St Catherine's Hospice is a local charity with a big ambition; to help everyone face death informed, supported and pain free.
It's there for people throughout Gatwick and the surrounding area, with expert hospice care, when and where they need it most. Expert staff are on hand to support people living with terminal illness in their homes, community and hospice building. It could be a bath, a favourite meal, or helping someone manage their pain; for St Catherine's, hospice care is whatever patients and those closest to them need it to be. The charity also gives emotional, spiritual and welfare support to anyone affected by death and bereavement.
St Catherine's' care is only possible thanks to the generosity of the local community. The support of Gatwick and the local community will help them be there, when life comes full circle.
Gatwick TravelCare assist over 2,000 passengers with travel-related problems each year.
The organisation is co-funded by Gatwick Airport Limited and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, which it sometimes represents on certain occasions, such as when repatriation flights return to Gatwick.
On a daily basis, the GTC crew help to resolve a wide range of issues, from financial difficulties to missed flights, rectifying passport irregularities and taking mental health into consideration. The Travel Care team also work with airlines, handling agents, consulates, embassies, social services and the police to provide our passengers with the best possible service.
Opening hours are from 09:00-17:00 Monday through Friday, and 09:00-16:00 on weekends and bank holidays.
