Our charity partners
Gatwick has a proud history of charitable support. As well as supporting many charities and local groups, we have three key charities which we work to raise funds for over the longer term - one local, one national and one airport based charity. These charities are currently St Catherine's Hospice, Gatwick TravelCare and Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance.
We will be raising money for these organisations throughout the year and encouraging our staff to volunteer their time and expertise.
St Catherine's Hospice
St Catherine's Hospice is a local charity with a big ambition; to help everyone face death informed, supported and pain free.
It's there for people throughout Gatwick and the surrounding area, with expert hospice care, when and where they need it most. Expert staff are on hand to support people living with terminal illness in their homes, community and hospice building. It could be a bath, a favourite meal, or helping someone manage their pain; for St Catherine's, hospice care is whatever patients and those closest to them need it to be. The charity also gives emotional, spiritual and welfare support to anyone affected by death and bereavement.
St Catherine's' care is only possible thanks to the generosity of the local community. The support of Gatwick and the local community will help them be there, when life comes full circle.
Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance
Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex is an independent charity, so every penny received is truly valued.
Every day, they strive to save lives by providing the best possible emergency medical care.
Their highly skilled pilots deliver their medical teams to people who are critically unwell or critically injured. Each of their medical teams operates with a paramedic and a doctor. This means that together, they can bring advanced care out of the hospital and straight to the patient – giving them the best possible chance and saving precious time.
Their crews are ready to respond every minute of the day, every day of the year. None of us ever know when we, our family, friends or community may need to depend on this vital service, which is why the charity is so grateful to have the support of Gatwick and the wider community.
Gatwick TravelCare helps over 2,000 passengers with travel-related problems each year.
The organisation is co-funded by Gatwick Airport and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), It also acts as an official representative for the FCO, as and when required - for example when repatriation flights return to Gatwick.
On a daily basis, the TravelCare team helps to resolve a wide range of issues, from financial difficulties to missed flights, sorting out passport irregularities and taking mental health into consideration. The charity also works with airlines, handling agents, consulates, embassies, social services and the police to provide our passengers with the best possible service.
Opening hours are 09:00-17:00 Monday to Friday, and 09:00-16:00 on weekends and bank holidays.
