At the airport
A: If you have lost items within the airport itself contact the lost property office. If you have lost items while on an aircraft or airline bus contact your airline directly.
Q: What facilities are there at Gatwick?
A: Check out our passenger services pages.
If you need further help or directions when you get to the airport, go to the information desks.
Q: Can I get an airport map?
A: Go to the airport maps page where you can find a link to Google maps as well as downloadable PDFs.
Q: Who do I contact if my suitcase was mislaid/delayed?
A: Baggage delivery is the responsibility of each airline. Contact your airline directly.
Q: Can I smoke at Gatwick?
A: You can only smoke outside the terminal buildings in the designated zones which are clearly marked.
This means that there’s no smoking once you’ve passed through security, so there are no smoking facilities for passengers connecting from an international to an international flight either. It’s not just Gatwick that has strict rules on smoking – the UK has been largely smoke-free since 2007, when smoking in any public, enclosed areas was banned.
E-cigarettes have the same restrictions as our current smoking policy and can only be used in the designated areas outside the terminal building.
A: We have so many tempting shops and delicious restaurants at Gatwick. You can fine out what's here by visiting our shop listings for details of all the shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, both before and after security. For all the latest offers please go to our Voucher Passport site.
Q: What happens if the goods I purchase are faulty?
A: Our Worldwide Money Back Guarantee means you can return almost any item bought at the airport free of charge, from anywhere in the world, for a full refund. Select the link above for full details.
Q: How much can I buy and what are my savings and allowances?
A: Please visit our shopping pages for information on airport savings and customs allowances or go to the HM Revenue & Customs website for full details of when tax and duty are payable.
Q: Can I buy before I fly and collect on my return to the UK?
A: Yes. If you are flying to a destination within the EU you may collect your purchases when you arrive back at the airport on your return flight. Visit our Shop & Drop pages for full details about this service.
