Driving disruption
Occasionally motorway access to and from London Gatwick may be affected by planned engineering and construction works. We recommend regularly checking this page to ensure you remain well informed of any potential disruption to your journey.

May 2024

Planned M25 engineering works

The M25 will be shut in both directions between junctions 9 (A243 Leatherhead) and 10 (A3Wisley) from 9pm Friday 10th May to 6am Monday 13th May 2024. This full closure is needed to install a new bridge.

A 19-mile diversion route will be in place which uses the A3 and the A240, with high-sided vehicles needing to come off earlier to follow a different diversion route avoiding a low bridge.

Drivers using the signed diversion route will not be subject to any ULEZ charges that may usually apply. The Ultra Low Emission Zone will remain in force on all other routes in London across the weekend.

We are expecting significant delays and traffic congestion on the run up to Junctions 9 and10 in both directions, including on diversion routes and surrounding local roads. Please ensure you plan well ahead and leave plenty of extra time for your journey.
