What’s the difference between a charter flight and a scheduled flight?
A charter flight is generally an aircraft chartered by a holiday company, and may operate once or twice a week to various destinations which vary on a seasonal basis. Most of the seats are sold as part of a package including accommodation, however, increasingly holiday companies will now sell flights only.
A scheduled flight is operated and marketed by the airline in its own right, to a routine, published schedule. They include low-cost airline flights, as well as regular scheduled carriers.
