On 17 July 2026, Mr Justice Soole in the High Court granted Gatwick Airport Limited an injunction to prohibit anyone whose purpose is or includes protesting about fossil fuels or the environment from entering, occupying or remaining on any part of the airport (including those in connection with Just Stop Oil or other environmental campaign groups) without the permission of Gatwick Airport Limited.
This injunction order supersedes the orders on materially the same terms previously granted by the High Court on 19 July 2024 and 18 July 2025.
Anyone breaching the injunction could be imprisoned for up to two years, fined and/or have their assets seized for contempt of court.
