There is engineering works taking place over the bank holiday weekend which may impact your journey to and from Gatwick

We recommend that you plan your journey carefully and allow additional time for your journey if your route is affected.

On Sunday 28 and Monday 29 May Network Rail is carrying out engineering work between Purley and Horley via Redhill, closing the line.

Southern trains are diverted between Purley and Horley and will not call at stations via Redhill (Coulsdon South, Merstham, Redhill, Earlswood and Salfords). Bus replacement services will run between Purley and Horley calling at all stations. You may experience a longer journey than normal if they are travelling from one of the affected stations.

On Sunday 28 May, no trains will run between London St Pancras International and Elephant and Castle. This means no Thameslink trains will run through the centre of London from Bedford to Brighton/Three Bridges. 2 trains per hour will run between London Bridge and Brighton. Passengers should use London Underground or London buses between London St Pancras International and London Bridge via any reasonable route.

Gatwick Express will run a service every 30 minutes on Sunday and Monday.

We are expecting ongoing disruption to overnight rail services to and from Gatwick from 21 May 2017

Southern Rail is making a key change to overnight services from London Victoria to Gatwick and Brighton to enable Network Rail to carry out essential engineering works.

Please plan your journey in advance and allow plenty of extra time to get to the airport.
