Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens
With just three hours to spare, stretch your legs in charming Leonardslee, one of the finest Victorian woodland gardens in the country. Filled with rare and endangered species, the 95-hectare (240-acre) estate is especially magnificent in spring.
Bolney Wine Estate
With four hours to spare, visit the pioneering Bolney Wine Estate, set between the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the South Downs National Park. Among their guided tour and tasting packages is the Drop-On Tour, a 45-min guided tour of the estate with three tastings.
Arundel Castle and Winnie the Pooh's Ashdown Forest
Discover Arundel Castle, with its battlements and towers high on a hill overlooking the rolling South Downs hills. Today, the castle is filled with 16th century furniture, tapestries and historic artworks.

Royal Tunbridge Wells
Thanks to the discovery of a natural spring in 1606, the Pantiles in Royal Tunbridge Wells became a popular destination for gentry and royalty, attracted by the health-giving qualities of the mineral-rich waters. Today, the Pantiles is still stylish, with independent shops and cafes in 18th- and 19th-century buildings.
