Sustainability is part of everything we do
Gatwick continues to work towards being the UK’s most sustainable airport. There’s still more to do.
Our next Decade of Change sustainability policy takes us to 2030. It builds on the success of our first 10 point plan.
Our new goals will continue our great work on the community and local environment. They will also increase our emphasis on people and on emissions.
Are we on track?
Sustainability has been a key part of Gatwick's transformation since 2009. Each year we report on our progress.
Our latest Decade of Change report provides an overview of our performance in 2020.
Our Goal to 2030
Our 10 focuses share three common themes.
They also align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Support our people and invest in our local communities.
Continue our transition to Net Zero and improve air quality.
Our impact on the local environment and waste.
Our goal is to reduce emissions from airplanes and the transport used to reach the airport.
By 2030, 60% of journeys to and from the airport will be zero or ultra-low emissions. This forms part of our Decade of Change sustainability policy.
