No trains between Gatwick and London
On Sunday 25 February, Sunday 4 March and Sunday 11 March, there will be no trains between Gatwick and London. There will also be a limited service from Gatwick to Brighton.
On these dates, trains to and from London will start and terminate at Redhill. Buses will replace trains between Redhill - Gatwick - Three Bridges. A further bus replacement service will run from Redhill to Three Bridges also calling at Earlswood, Salfords, Horley and Gatwick.
Rail services to and from the south coast will start and terminate at Three Bridges. Two Thameslink trains per hour will run between Brighton and Gatwick. These services will call at Three Bridges to allow London-bound passengers to transfer to replacement buses to Redhill.
If you are travelling to or from the airport, plan your journey and allow additional time.
Ongoing disruption to Southern overnight rail services to and from Gatwick
Southern Rail is making a key change to overnight services from London Victoria to Gatwick and Brighton to enable Network Rail to carry out essential engineering works.
Overnight Thameslink services to London Blackfriars and London St Pancras International are not affected. See the overnight timetable.
Please plan your journey in advance and allow plenty of extra time to get to the airport.
Which services will be affected?
- On Sunday - Thursday nights there will be no Southern trains departing after 00:05 and before 04:52 operating to or from London Victoria to Gatwick Airport/Brighton.
- There will be no overnight Gatwick Express services between 23:30 and 05:00.
- Passengers with Southern tickets will be able to use Thameslink services from London Blackfriars to travel between central London and East Croydon, Gatwick Airport/Brighton. Late evening and overnight Thameslink services will call additionally at Purley, Coulsdon South, Merstham, Redhill and Horley, with some trains also running to Haywards Heath and Brighton.
- Southern services will run as normal on Friday and Saturday nights.
