Engineering work is taking place between East Croydon and Redhill closing all lines.
Trains
- Southern trains will run every 30 minutes between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport, via Horsham. This journey takes 1 hour 25 minutes.
- There will be no Thameslink trains between East Croydon and Three Bridges.
- Thameslink trains will run between Redhill and Brighton (calling at Gatwick and other local stations).
- No Gatwick Express trains will run.
Rail replacement buses will run between:
- East Croydon and Gatwick Airport
- East Grinstead and Three Bridges (for travel between Brighton/East Sussex coast and London)
Journeys will take considerably longer than normal. Plan in advance and allow extra time to get to the airport.

Engineering work is taking place between Reading and Blackwater, closing all lines.
Buses will replace trains between Reading and Guildford. An hourly service will operate between Guildford and Gatwick Airport.

Car
Pre-book your airport parking in advance as our car parks will be very busy. We have increased the number of car parking spaces available.

Taxi
Gatwick Cars Ltd is our official taxi provider and can be found outside both the North and South Terminals. Expect queues on strike days, so pre-book your taxi in advance.

Bus and coach
Metrobus offers local bus services around the Gatwick area, with single fares at £2. This includes services to Redhill, from where you can catch TfL bus 405 to Croydon for connecting buses, and trams to Wimbledon for the District Line. You can buy tickets on board and contactless payment is available.
National Express and The Airline by the Oxford Bus Company offer coach services from both terminals to Oxford, London Victoria Coach Station, Brighton and other destinations across England and Wales. You can use either company’s services to reach London Heathrow T5, from where you can catch the Piccadilly Line into central London.
Book coach tickets in advance as services are likely to sell out on strike days.
