Rail disruption

Here we post updates on rail engineering works or disruption to services. We recommend that you always check with your train company or National Rail  and plan your journey before you travel. 

Saturday 16 to Sunday 24 February - no trains between Three Bridges and Brighton

Network Rail is carrying out major work between Three Bridges and Brighton over February half-term as part of the ongoing Brighton Main Line Improvement Project. 

  • There will be no trains between Three Bridges and Brighton or between Three Bridges and Lewes throughout February half-term. Buses will replace trains during this period.
  • Trains will run between London Victoria and Brighton on a diversion via Horsham and Littlehampton, with extended journeys times of around 2 hours and 15 minutes.
  • Journeys will take considerably longer than normal. Passengers should plan their journeys ahead and leave plenty of additional time.
  • Gatwick Express services will run every 30 minutes between London Victoria and Gatwick. Other services between London and Gatwick are unaffected.

Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 March - no trains between Three Bridges and Brighton 

  • There will be no trains between Three Bridges and Brighton or between Three Bridges and Lewes all weekend. Buses will replace trains.
  • Trains will run between London Victoria and Brighton on a diversion via Horsham and Littlehampton, with extended journeys times of around 2 hours and 15 minutes.
  • Journeys will take considerably longer than normal. Passengers should plan their journeys ahead and leave plenty of additional time.
  • Gatwick Express services will run every 30 minutes between London Victoria and Gatwick. Other services between London and Gatwick are unaffected.
