Sunday 15 December - Amended Gatwick Express Service
Engineering work is taking place between East Croydon and Coulsdon South, closing some lines.
As a result, Gatwick Express will run a reduced, half hourly service between London Victoria and Gatwick Airport.
Southern services between East Croydon and Coulsdon South will be retimed and will take longer than usual.
Sunday 15 December - Amended Thameslink service in the London Bridge area
Engineering work is taking place between London Bridge and New Cross Gate, closing some lines.
A reduced Thameslink service will be in operation between Bedford and Gatwick Airport/Three Bridges.
Services between Cambridge and Gatwick Airport will be diverted, not calling at London Bridge. These services will call additionally at Earlswood and Salfords and will be subject to extended journey times by up to 15 minutes.
Services between Bedford and Brighton will be diverted, not calling at London Bridge. Journey times will be extended by up to 15 minutes.
Sunday 22 December - No Gatwick Express trains before 06:30
Engineering work is taking place between East Croydon and Purley Oaks in the early hours of Sunday, closing two of four lines.
As a result, there will be no Gatwick Express services before 06:30. Passengers should use Southern services between London Victoria and Gatwick.
Early morning Southern trains will be retimed between London Victoria and Three Bridges, extending journey times
Monday 2 December to Wednesday 1 January - SWR Strikes
RMT union members at South Western Railway will be on strike for most of December.
Strike days are as follows:
- From 00:01 on Monday 2 December to 23:59 on Wednesday 11 December. The amended timetable will also be in place on Thursday 12 December.
- From 00:01 on Friday 13 December until 23:59 on Tuesday 24 December
- From 00:01 on Friday 27 December until 23:59 on Wednesday 1 January
SWR expect to run more than half of their normal Monday to Friday services, prioritising capacity at peak times.
Peak services will be much busier than normal and SWR have warned queuing systems may be in place at some stations. Services will finish earlier than normal at around 23:00. Services on other operators are also likely to be busier than normal.
